Aldi Corporate Headquarters Expansion — Batavia, Illinois
This 85,000 square foot, five-story expansion project consisted of a structural steel frame with poured in place concrete floor decks and a basement at 18 feet below finish floor. The exterior skin is an architectural pre-cast with both a heavy and light sandblast finish with curtain wall glazing at the stairwell. A full-service industrial kitchen was installed on the first floor including walk-in freezers and coolers. All mechanical equipment is housed in the basement. The HVAC system consists of a hot water radiant heat system with in-wall fin tube coils for heating and chilled water to VAV boxes for cooling.
