Corporate/Commercial
Aldi Corporate Headquarters Expansion | Batavia, IL
This class A office building more than doubled the size of Aldi's U.S. Corporate Headquarters. The 85,000 SF, five-story building consisted of a structural steel frame with poured in place concrete floor decks and a basement at 18 feet below finish floor. The exterior skin is an architectural pre-cast with both a heavy and light sandblast finish with curtain wall glazing at the stairwell. A full-service industrial kitchen was installed on the first floor including walk-in freezers and coolers. All mechanical equipment is housed in the basement. The HVAC system consists of a hot water radiant heat system with in-wall fin tube coils for heating and chilled water to VAV boxes for cooling. Interior architectural finishes include the extensive use of granite throughout the lobbies and on the stairwells, and the use of furniture grade wood panels in the main two story lobby.
