Hooters | Uptown Charlotte, NC
When Hooters of America asked A M King to design, permit and construct their highest-quality and most upscale restaurant in Uptown Charlotte, they had one prevailing requirement; the restaurant had to be open by the start of football season. This allowed only 12 weeks for design, permitting and full construction, and A M King Construction lived up to the challenge. Our ability to fast track the design process earned us a full building permit in just six weeks; a rare accomplishment in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg permitting system. Then in the next six week period, we transformed an existing and dilapidated space into a gleaming new restaurant. The original space was fully demolished, and all new HVAC and plumbing systems were installed. New tongue and groove cedar walls, ICore II laminate flooring, a brand new kitchen with new equipment, and a new bar with beverage systems were also provided. We also installed all of the millwork, dining tables and booths, walk-in coolers, entertainment equipment, and server stations which were provided by the Owner. And five days prior to the first football game of the season, Hooters was open for business!
