Expanding in the new year: a m king construction's partnership with B. robert's foods grows by 14,500 sf
February 10, 2012 -B. Robert’s Foods, LLC recently selected A M King Construction to provide construction services for the expansion of their Charlotte facility, located on Westinghouse Boulevard. A M King Construction is providing a full range of construction services for Phase II of this project: concrete, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, insulated metal panels, and interior finishes.
The partnership between the two entities began in 2010 when A M King Construction renovated B. Robert’s Foods’ existing facility (Phase I), converting an old printing company into their current space. B. Robert’s Foods is a local food producer and packager that develop custom programs for grocery stores and the restaurant industry. This expansion will better position B. Robert’s Foods to serve the industry’s demand, as they will be adding packaging, dough and staging rooms, a new docking extension (with two new 45 degree angled dock positions), and a new 35 degree cooler room. The scope of work alsoincludes making modifications to existing cold packaging rooms, freezers, and construction of a cold meat marinating room. The expansion also required the existing sitework and truck turnaround areas to be reworked.
The expansion began on January 9, 2012, with an estimated completion date of March 15, 2012.
