Junior Achievement uses hands-on experiences to help young people understand the economics of life. In partnership with business and educators, Junior Achievement brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential. Participating in the Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon is a lot of fun, but more importantly it will help impact the lives of nearly 70,000 students - from Asheville to Charlotte to Wilmington and throughout the central Carolinas - during the 2007-2008 school year.

After reading about Project Joy in the newspaper, Brian King knew this was something A M King Construction needed to support. Starting in 2006, A M King Construction donated $25,000 towards that support. In 2007, A M King Construction not only wanted to show their support, but to encourage other area businesses to become involved. A M King offered to match all corporate donations up to $40,000. Although those donations did not reach the mark, A M King Construction presented Tommy and three wonderful ladies from Youth and Family Services a check for the $40,000 at a luncheon hosted in their honor.
